Stirling Moss triumphed here in a Cooper on the very first day of professional motor racing at Goodwood in 1948. By the 1950s and early 60s thousands of people flocked to the circuit to watch the thrills and spills on the track in the superb cars of the day. And this track is just as it was back in the day. In fact Goodwood is the only classic circuit in the world to retain its original layout. The control tower (vestiges of Goodwood's RAF past) is a lovely building that houses a cafe and gives spectators a fantastic grandstand view. The pit lane is still dominated by the famous clock and the Girling sign which looks down on the garages. The sense of history at Goodwood is very much alive when you visit - and it's utterly captivating and thrilling. And that wonderful past is very much present on these Goodwood supercar thrills.
